About TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship

TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship - is India's fastest-growing blended apprenticeship training program. The program aims to help organizations develop a qualified, robust and sustainable workforce and a productive human supply chain.

TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship was set up in 2014 as a 100% employer-funded Public- Private Partnership (PPP). Its stakeholders currently include TeamLease Skills University, Schoolguru, CII, and the Ministry of Skill Development.

The program has opened new channels for the employer-people supply chain in creating a talent pipeline, improving productivity, and ensuring a lower attrition rate. Since then, TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship has successfully empowered 1.5 lakh youth by enabling learning-while-learning and learning-by-doing with over 1000 employers in 24 industries across all our 29 states.

India's current penetration of apprentices is very weak and only 35,000 employers create positions equalling 0.01% of the workforce. The scenario is changing rapidly, and TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship believes that India can reach the short-term goal of 1 million employers creating apprenticeship positions equal to 1% of our labour force.

TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship also offers:

  • A range of digital solutions for trainee workflow management to employers, and
  • 200 trainers every day to employer sites for targeted learning interventions.

About TeamLease Skills University


TeamLease Skills University (TLSU) is India’s first vocational skills university. Established under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) the university was set up in 2013 under Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2013.

TLSU’s primary mission is to combine apprenticeship with other forms of learning and strike the balance between degrees, skills, and employment pathways. It aims to promote skill learning for the employment market and help its students to be employment ready. To do so, it makes use of traditional and non-traditional programs, focusing on academic, vocational, professional, technical, and life skills.
