    What is the Apprentices Act, 1961

    The Act demands that every company with 30 or more employees should mandatorily engage with apprentices in the range of 2.5% to 15% of their total workforce.

    Can companies be Exempt from compliance?

    No. All companies with 30 or more employees (contractual or full-time) should comply with the Apprentices Act, 1961. Companies with less than 30 employees can engage with apprentices but it’s not a compliance requirement. Companies with less than 4 employees are NOT allowed to engage with apprentices.
